Poll Time: Vote for the Blue Jays number 14 moment of the 2010s

In a tight vote, the winner for the number 13 moment for the Blue Jays in the teens is Roberto Alomar’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Roberto had a 17 year MLB career. He played for 7 teams, including 5 seasons with the Jays. He went into the Hall as a Jay, where he won his 2 World Series rings.

In total he had 2724 hits, 210 home runs and 474 stolen bases. In 2379 games he had a .300/.371/.443 batting line. And he played a very exciting defense at second base. All that added up to a 67.1 bWAR (22.3 with the Jays).

If you were making a list of the best second basemen in MLB history, Roberto would be right up there. After Joe Morgan and Rogers Hornsby he’d be in the discussion for the third spot.

Roberto retired with a 67.1 bWAR (22.3 of that with the Blue Jays).

I think there is a poetic justice to having Hallday and Alomar’s inductions back-to-back on the list.

Here is his plaque:
