Canada Day music playlist curator and bullpen cart rider extraordinaire John Axford is a Blue Jay once again as he has reportedly signed a minor league deal and will report to camp later this week.
Can confirm #BlueJays and John Axford are reuniting, as @JonHeyman first reported.

On February 8th of last year, the Blue Jays signed Axford to a minor league deal with a Spring Training invite. He made the opening day roster, and pitched in 51 innings to a 4.41 ERA for the Jays before being traded to the Dodgers at the July 31st deadline. Axford was injured shortly after the trade, and didn’t make the Dodgers’ post season roster.
Axford documented his road trip back to Canada on Instagram, and it was delightful. If you missed it, you can find it here and here.
Axford stated on the record a month ago that he wanted to sign with the Blue Jays again, and I’m sure the Blue Jays are happy to have a known veteran down in the bullpen.
Welcome back, John!
