Sunday Bantering: No surgery for Tepera

And Game Day Open Thread

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays-Workouts Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

We have the Blue Jays last Florida game of the spring. It is against the Tigers, and, as you would expect for the last road game, there aren’t many regulars in the line up.

There is some good news on the injury front:

Ryan Tepera has been told he doesn’t need surgery on his sore elbow. He will start throwing again on Tuesday. I assume he’ll still start the season on the DL, but he won’t be out for the several months that we figured.

If you watched yesterday’s game, you likely noticed that Jason Adams looked pretty good out there. Charlie Montoyo was impressed and says he has a shot at making the Jays bullpen.

And Bud Norris is to pitch today. Montoyo says he should be ready for opening day.

Clayton Richard threw in a minor league game yesterday. I was wondering, I didn’t think he threw enough innings this spring to be able to go deep into a game the first week of the season.

Today’s lineup. Sean Reid-Foley starts. There are a lot of minor leaguers in the game. The game is on tv.
