We can’t make it once through the rotation without an injury.
Clayton Richard goes on the IL (I will get used the the term Injury List soon) with a stress reaction in his right knee. Apparently a stress reaction is what happens before a stress fracture, so good they are ahead of it. He will be out for at least two weeks.
Sean Reid-Foley will get tomorrow’s start.
Sean didn’t have the greatest of spring stats. He had an 8.40 ERA in 15 innings. He allowed 14 hits, 1 home run, 8 walks, with 13 strikeouts.
Last year he made 7 starts for the Blue Jays, with a 5.13 ERA. In 33.1 innings he allowed 31 hits, 6 homers, 21 walks with 42 strikeouts. He’s gotta throw more strikes.
Splitting time between New Hampshire and Buffalo he had a 3.26 ERA in the minors last year. In 129.2 innings he allowed 103 hits, 50 walks and 150 strikeouts.
I was hoping we’d see Reid-Foley some this year.
Get better quick Clayton.
In case you missed it, Russell Martin pitched yesterday. The Dodgers were up by 13 and decided not to use a pitcher. He had a clean inning, two ground outs and a fly out:
Russell Martin pure filth. pic.twitter.com/n1DoSm6IgR
