GameThread Game #13: Blue Jays at Red Sox

Going for the (mini) sweep

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

It’s another chilly evening in Boston as the Blue Jays will aim to continue to rain on the Red Sox’s home opener parade.

Only 36% of BBB GameThread voters thought the Blue Jays hitting would prevail over the Red Sox pitching, which is just about equal to the odds FanGraphs has given the Jays of winning this game. Game 1 went to the Jays hitting. Let’s hope Game 2 does as well.

Here is today’s lineup that will look to make that happen. Smoak is back in, thankfully. Brito is down to the 9th spot, and Jansen will catch for Sanchez.

Today's Lineups

BLUE JAYS RED SOX
Billy McKinney - LF Andrew Benintendi - LF
Freddy Galvis - SS Mookie Betts - RF
Justin Smoak - DH Mitch Moreland - 1B
Randal Grichuk - CF J.D. Martinez - DH
Rowdy Tellez - 1B Xander Bogaerts - SS
Danny Jansen - C Rafael Devers - 3B
Brandon Drury - 3B Dustin Pedroia - 2B
Lourdes Gurriel - 2B Jackie Bradley Jr. - CF
Socrates Brito - RF Blake Swihart - C
