Its a Good Friday and a its a good Friday as we celebrate our first series win of the season.
There is also a good feeling as he Vlad hype train seems to be nearing the station at last. Here is the latest update on his impending arrival at MLB.
A’s ahead
Up next we face the Oakland A’s in a 3 game set.
Today sees Marcus Stroman (0-3, 1.99 ERA) vs. Aaron Brooks (2-1, 4.24 ERA)
Brooks has two quality starts in his three games this season. Over his career, he’s 0-2, 57.86 ERA in two games vs. the Blue Jays, but those were the 2014 and 2015 Jays.
Tomorrow sees our staff ace Matt Shoemaker (3-0, 1.75 ERA) vs. ‘Stanton basher’ Mike Fiers (2-1, 7.06 ERA)
Fiers had the honour of throwing the first official pitch of the MLB season on March 20 in Tokyo. He’s 2-0, 0.00 ERA in Oakland, but 0-0, 16.20 ERA in his last two starts, both on the road.
Then on Sunday we have Aaron Sanchez (2-1, 2.86 ERA) vs. our old friend Brett Anderson (3-0, 2.63 ERA)
Anderson started seven games for the Jays at the end of the 2017 season. He induces ground balls (1.71 ground outs to air outs) and has allowed only one home run in 24 innings this season.
Awesome angle

With another strong start from Yennsy Diaz, and five combined RBIs from Alberto Mineo and Vinny Capra , the Fisher Cats won their third straight game in a wild 5-3 showdown with the Hartford Yard Goats.
And i’ll not comment on this stat: Mike Trout has swung-and-missed at 7 of the 253 pitches he’s seen this season. Socrates Brito has whiffed on 21 of 83.
MLB and other bits
Let’s get weird, again: extreme pitcher stats so far
