Matt Shoemaker leaves game with left knee injury

So this isn’t good.

Matt Shoemaker was injured in a rundown in the 3rd inning of today’s game. He tagged the runner, Matt Chapman and hurt something in his leg at the same time. It could be his knee or a muscle tear of some sort.

It was not a well done rundown. Too many throws, and, really the pitcher should never be part of a rundown.

Shoemaker was having such a good start to his season, 3-0 with a 1.57 ERA. And he was having a good game. 3 innings, 3 hits, 1 k.

I’m hoping it isn’t as bad as it looks, but it looks like we won’t see him for a long time.
