You might have heard that Bo Bichette was hit on the hand by a pitch and left yesterday’s Bisons’ game.
Today we find out that the Blue Jays number 2 prospect has a broken hand. We seem to be having bad luck on the injury front of late. I hate bad news in the morning (not that I like bad news any other time)
Here is the tweet from Robert Murray:
Preliminary tests on #BlueJays’ Bo Bichette showed broken left hand, sources tell me and @Ken_Rosenthal. He will get a second opinion.

Yeah, I don’t understand the ‘second opinion’. I can’t imagine one doctor would say ‘Bo your hand is broken’ and the next one would say ‘no it isn’t, you are fine’. I guess the second opinion is more to discuss the best course of action.
I don’t know how long he’ll be out. But I would guess at least a couple of months. The trouble is that we don’t want him coming back while the hand is sore. Hands are kind of important for batters and hitting with a sore hand is not that much fun. I’m doubting we’ll see him in Toronto this year.
If you want to watch (though I can’t imagine why you would) here video of the pitch hitting him:

I watched that and my hand hurts.
Bo, I wish you a speedy recovery.
