This week’s national question was about the MLB draft and the answer surprised me:

I voted the other way.
I’m always on the side of picking the player with the higher ceiling, mostly because I think we need those guys to complete with the top teams in the league.
Jays fans were asked if they “trust” the front office to make a good draft pick. Most of us do:

Mark and Ross haven’t been with the team long enough for their draft picks to make an impact on the major league team, but some of their picks looks to be successes (Nate Pearson, Kevin Smith, Riley Adams, Jordan Groshans, Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio) and some that look to be misses (Logan Warmoth, Hagen Danner (though any could turn it around). The minor league system has improved over the last couple of years.
They seem to have put together a good team to work on the draft. I was very happy when they hired Ben Cherington
As always, we were asked if we approve of manager Charlie Montoyo and, as usual we do, 95% voted yet.
And we were asked if we have confidence in the direction of the team, and 89% said yes, up from 71% last week.
