Vladimir Guerrero left tonight’s game, in the first inning, after being hit in the hand by a pitch.

In the top of the first, Guerrero hitting second, took the second pitch of his at bat off his left hand. Gerrit Cole’s fastball was 96.3 MPH. After being checked by trainer Nikki Huffman, Vlad went down to first base, but he didn’t come put to play defense in the bottom of the inning.

The Jays say X-rays were negative, and that Vlad has a contusion. But initial X-rays are sometimes wrong. I’ll hope it is just a bruise. I’ll also hope the Jays are careful with him. Let’s keep him off the field until there is no more pain.

Hoping you are ok Vlad.
