The first half of the 2019 Blue Jays season has been nothing short of painful. While we all knew we were in for a losing season, but it seems like none of us predicted there would be this much losing. While there won’t be an end to the piling up of losses anytime soon, but at the very least hopefully we can look forward to more of the weird, wacky and fun moments to come.
The first of the season held many things none of us saw coming: Eric Sogard putting up a borderline All Star first half, Tesocar Hernandez and Lourdes Gurriel Jr playing more than passable defense in center field and left field respectively, and Luke Maile pitching two scoreless innings.
As we progress into the unofficial second half of the season, things are likely to get even more unpredictable as players are traded, and the front office will seek to confirm who will be a part of the next competitive core.
While it seems nearly impossible to predict what we might see take place and the Jays play out the remaining 72 games, I thought it might be fun to try:
