Around the Nest - Week 16, 2019: Their Eyes Were Watching Vlad

Their Eyes Were Watching Vlad

Happy Friday, everyone!

This week in the Jays’ system: Vladdy Jr. made a name for himself hitting dingers in Cleveland, Kirby Snead represented the Buffalo Bisons at the Triple-A All-Star Game, three New Hampshire Fisher Cats participated in the Eastern League All-Star Game, the Dunedin Blue Jays’ 11-game winning streak came at last to an end, the Lansing Lugnuts’ pitching takes over on the road, Philip Clarke debuts with a bang in Vancouver, and the Bluefield Blue Jays keep on swinging.

Around The Nest is a weekly podcast about the Blue Jays’ minor league system hosted by the Voice of the Lugnuts Jesse Goldberg-Strassler and featuring the voices of each of the Jays’ active minor league affiliates. It usually goes live every Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm during the season.

As always, we welcome your questions in the comments below. Here are a few questions from the Around The Nest team:

  • Should the Blue Jays turn to Kirby Snead for some bullpen help? Is he ready for the major leagues?
  • What do the Blue Jays still need to see from Bo Bichette? Should he have already been called up? What are your thoughts on the Bichette conundrum?
