Jays Roster Moves: Jackson DFA, Waguespack Up

MLB: Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday, when Edwin Jackson came into the game, I said that he would be DFAed after and now the Blue Jays have made it official. It is kind of sad that he has his best appearance with the Jays and his reward is to be DFAed, but that’s the way things go when you have an ERA over 10.

Jacob Waguespack, no surprise, has been recalled and will make tonight’s start. Or follow tonight’s opener. Jacob has made two relief appearance this season for the Jays. In 9 innings he’s allowed 9 hits, 5 earned, 1 walk with 11 strikeouts. Nice strikeout to walk rate.

In Buffalo he’s played in 12 games, 11 starts. In 52.2 innings, he’s allowed 57 hits, 9 homers, 25 walks and 52 strikeouts for a 5.30 ERA.

Today’s lineup. Vlad back in the 2 spot. McKinney bought himself another start by hitting a home runs yesterday. Apparently he’s brought his hands down a bit in his stance, and made other small changes at the suggestion of Justin Smoak and Eric Sogard.
