How is your day going? Mine? Well, it is very very cold here in Calgary and we had a furnace die last night. We have a two floor house with a basement, and two furnaces. The one that heats the main floor and basement quit last night. Called the guy. He worked on it till about 2:30 this morning, and then said he needed to get parts and would come back 7:30 this morning.

It was ok overnight because the bedrooms are upstairs, but this morning it was pretty cold on the main floor. He got here about 9 (didn’t surprise me that he was late, he likely wasn’t home and in bed until 3:30 or so) and now we have a working furnace again. Give it an hour and it will be back around room temperature here. We are very lucky, it is going to be even colder this weekend and, if we lost it then, it would have been bad.

I’m happy to have a warm computer on my lap at the moment.

The winner of the poll for the number 17 Blue Jays moment of the decade was Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s walk-off home run in Montreal.

Cameras were following Vlad all the time at the Big O since that’s where his father became a MLB star. And Vlad shared his memories of being there as a child.

If you were going to write an ending to the game in Montreal, this would have been it. The French call of it was terrific.
