Rob Longley tell us that the Blue have signed Joe Panik to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Panik will get a shot at Eric Sogard’s role from last year.
Panik has had 6 seasons in the majors hitting .271/.334/.384 with 38 home runs in 682 games. His best year was 2015 when he hit .312/.378/.455 with 8 home runs in 100 games and made the All-Star team that year. He won one Gold Glove and was 6th in Rookie of the Year voting in 2014. He’s only played second in the majors.
