Rob Longley tell us that the Blue have signed Joe Panik to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Panik will get a shot at Eric Sogard’s role from last year.

Panik has had 6 seasons in the majors hitting .271/.334/.384 with 38 home runs in 682 games. His best year was 2015 when he hit .312/.378/.455 with 8 home runs in 100 games and made the All-Star team that year. He won one Gold Glove and was 6th in Rookie of the Year voting in 2014. He’s only played second in the majors.

Welcome to the team Joe.
