I take a couple of days away, and when I come back I’m logged out and couldn’t remember my password. But I’m in now.
The winner of the poll for the 16th biggest moment of the 2010s was Marco Estrada’s start in game three of the 2015 ALDS.
The Blue Jays were down 2-0, to the Rangers, and we needed a win to continue the series. After lossing 5-3 and 6-4 in the first two games of the series, we needed a great start and Marco Estrada gave us one.
Marco went 6.1 inning, allowing 5 hits, no walks with 4 strikeouts and just 1 run. It was the start we needed. Marco became the big game playoff starter for us that day. Marco’s gave five start in the 2015 ALCS was voted our number 4 moment of the decade.
Marco wasn’t the only Jay to step up that day. Troy Tulowitzki drove in 4 runs, 3 of them on a home run in the 6th inning to extend our lead to 5-0. It was a game that, until that point, we seemed to be punting scoring chances, until that moment. We hit into 3 double plays.
And we got great work from the bullpen: Aaron Loup, Mark Lowe, Aaron Sanche and Roberto Osuna went the last 2.2 innings without giving up a base runner.
Down to the final four and there are a lot of excellent moment left on the poll.
