Question time: Tell us about the best non-Jays game you ever watched?

MLB: World Series-Los Angeles Dodgers at Tampa Bay Rays Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

There isn’t much for Blue Jays news of late, so I thought I’d ask a question: What is the best non-Jays game you have ever watched?

I ask because I think Game 4 of this World Series is right near the top of the list for me. It had some of everything, good pitching, bad pitching, questionable manager decisions, good base running, bad base running, mistakes and a walk-off.

The walk-off play was amazing in so many ways. The tumble while coming home. The outfielder kicking away the ball and then making a bad throw home. The first baseman cutting off the throw and making a bad throw himself. The catcher not living up to his job title. The pitcher not backing up the play.

And, of course, the journeyman player getting to be the star.

Apparently Brett Phillips needed an IV after the game. His ‘resting’ heart rate was 140 and he had a migraine.

I said it was the best World series game I’d seen since Joe Carter hit the home run.

It might not be true, game 4 of the ALCS in 2004 (the Dave Roberts steal game) was pretty amazing, but then the game gets better when you factor in what happened after.

Game 7 of the 2016 World Series (Cubs finally win the World Series) was a great game. Cleveland scores 3 in the eighth to tie the game. Cubs score 2 in the tenth to take the lead. Cleveland gets 1 back in the bottom of the inning.

Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. The Diamondbacks beat the Yankees, scoring 2 off Mariano Rivera. Any game Roger Clemens ends up on the losing side is a good game.

And before the Carter home run: The Bill Buckner game 1986. Gary Carter won his World Series ring. Lots of bad manager decisions.

Anyway, tell us about the best non-Jays game you’ve ever watched.
