This is the game from August 11, the second of four at Tropicana against the Rays.
Blue Jays 0 Rays 1
The Jays managed just 2 hits, in 6.2 innings against Tyler Glasnow, a Derek Fisher single and a Travis Shaw double. Our only other base runner was Vladimir Guerrero who took a base on balls.
And then relievers Peter Fairbanks and Nick Anderson threw the last 2.1 innings without allowing a base runner.
Anthony Kay had a terrific start, 7 innings, 3 hits, 2 walks and 6 strikeout. Unfortunately, the Rays were able to get the 1 run they needed.
In the bottom of the first, Manuel Margot led off with a single, Willy Adames walked and a single from Jose Martinez scored the only run of the game, before Kay got his first out.
After that Kay got 21 outs allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk. Kyle Crockett pitched a nice quick eighth inning.
Sim Rays fans come out in bigger numbers then real Rays fans, 30,747 made it across the bay to St. Petersburg.
The Jays drop to 70-51.
