Noah Syndergaard to have Tommy John Surgery

Former Blue Jays prospect Noah Syndergaard is going to have Tommy John surgery to fix a torn ulnar collateral ligament.

He won’t be able to pitch until April next year at best (but then it is possible no major leaguer will be pitching until April next year). It is more likely that Noah won’t be back until mid-season next year.

There are bans on elective surgery in most places in the US but....if you have the money MLB has, you can get anything.

Baseball Prospectus has their 2020 Blue Jays Preview up. They go over what PECOTA thinks about the team. It is an interesting read. I’m hoping we hit the 90 percentile.

We are in day four of self quarantine. I drove my car yesterday.

I have a couple of review copies of books to get read, so I’m happy to be in the house awhile. A nice part about being locked in the house is I’ve heard from friends who I haven’t talked to in a long time.

My body clock is still on Moroccan time. I’m waking up at 5:00 in the morning. I didn’t know there was a 5 in the morning. And my head is a little foggy as I try to get enough sleep.

No symptoms of the virus yet. I have had a cough since early in our trip but that was before the virus had hit Morocco. I figured that since we were in the crush at the Marrakesh Airport, it was a possibility that we could get it.
