First Happy Easter. I hope the Bunny was good to you all.
The Jays get a big win on Easter. The get into double digits for runs for the third time in the 16 games so far this season.
The Jays got 7 runs in the third inning, and that ruined all the suspense. The second went:
- Teoscar Hernandez double.
- Vladimir Guerrero home run.
- Randal Grichuk hit by pitch.
- Travis Shaw walk.
- Lourdes Gurriel home run. The Royals finally pulled Mike Montgomery, Jesse Hahn.
- Cavan Biggio walk.
- Brandon Drury doubled. Two more score and it is 7-0.
We got two more in the fifth. Biggio walked, Brandon Drury double Biggio home. An out later, Bo Bichette walked (and stole second). Drury scored on a Hernandez ground out.
And two more in the eighth. Reese McGuire walked and Bichette homered.
We have 13 hits, with 3 home runs (Vlad, Lourdes and Bo), 4 doubles (McGuire, Teoscar and 2 from Drury) and 6 walks.
Hyun-Jin Ryu got the start. He went 6.2 innings, allowed 8 hits, no walks, 3 earned with 8 strikeouts. Ryu is 2-0 now. Wilmer Font pitched the last 2.1 giving up a hit, 2 walks and 3 k.
Lets give JODs to Vlad (2 for 4, walk, home run) and Lourdes (3 run homer).
28,602 putting off starting their Easter dinner to watch the Jays win.
The Jays are now 11-5. Now I’m wishing I had something to do with it, but I’m just letting the game play it.
