Ben Nicholson-Smith tells us that the Blue Jays are releasing a number of minor league players today. The number of players being let go and names aren’t known yet. We likely won’t know the names until all the players are notified.
Around baseball, most teams are cutting players, with ESPN’s Jeff Passan reporting Thursday that upwards of 1,000 total minor-leaguers could lose their jobs. Even those who remain employed are facing challenging times.
We heard the other day that the A’s were going to stop paying their minor league players, while some other teams have said they will continue paying them through the end of August. The Jays have said if they will continue to pay their minor leaguers.
With the news of teams releasing many minor league players, and teams not paying them, we also hear this:
Sources: David Price will pay out of his money $ 1,000 during the month of June to each minor league player in Dodgers system (40-man roster not included) according to multiple sources. Beautiful act if we count that Price hasn't played yet in MLB with @Dodgers. RESPECT.

It is a very nice thing Price is doing but it seems sad that the very rich Dodger owners aren’t.
Just wanted to remind you that the Roy Halladay E:60 episode is on TSN tonight at 7:00 Eastern. Gregor Chisholm says it is a ‘must-watch’ for any Jays fan but I’m thinking that some of us might not want to watch. With the world the way it is, watching something depressing might not be the easiest thing to do. We will have an open thread for any that want to chat about the show while watching.
Imperfect’ sheds fresh light on the Roy Halladay we didn’t know — the pain, the drugs, the darkness. My review on ESPN's upcoming feature, which airs tomorrow night on TSN. It's a must-watch for any #BlueJays fan: https://t.co/ia85EpfEvb
