OOTP Season Sim Game 66: Poor Start for Pearson, Jays Lose

Rangers 7 Blue Jays 1

Well, it had to happen sometime. Nate Pearson had his first bad start of his sim MLB career. He went 4.2 innings, allowed 9 hits, 7 earned, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. He gave up 3 home runs. 8 strikeouts with no walks is pretty amazing though. Maybe he should have walked the odd guy.

He gave up 3 runs in the first inning. Back to back doubles, plus a Willie Calhoun home run.

And 4 in the fifth. With 2 outs he gave up a Roughned Odor home run. Then singled from Calhoun and Danny Santana, to set up a Ronald Guzman home run.

After that Wilmer Font, Anthony Bass and Eduardo Jimenez kept the Rangers off the board.

On offense, we only had 3 hits. Lourdes Gurriel, Rowdy Tellez and Derek Fisher each had doubles.

Rangers starter Jordan Lyles went 7 innings of 2 run ball.

41,276 came out to see the game. I’m not sure how it all works but the team should have money for a free agent or two after the season with these crowds.

The Blue Jays have tomorrow off. I’ll post the stats for the minor league teams tomorrow. After that they have 3 games at home against the Mariners and then 3 games in Detroit against the Tigers.
