I know it’s hard to remember which day it is these days, but i’m pretty sure it’s not #TransactionFriday. However, the Jays are now out some cash and have a shiny new 1B/DH.
OFFICIAL: We’ve acquired 1B/DH Daniel Vogelbach from the Mariners for cash considerations.

Welcome to the #BlueJays, Vogey! pic.twitter.com/S7WjUVV0Tp
If there’s one thing this team has really been lacking it’s a first base/designated hitter types so this is great (oh, sarcasm font only works in comments?).
This is Vogelbach’s fifth year in the majors, all as a Seattle Mariner. He played in 144 games last year, putting up a .780 OPS with 30 homers and 92 walks. However he had a stellar first half, with a .881 OPS and he made the all star team. He’s had a rough start to this year, only collecting five hits (two of them homers) in 64 plate appearances. He has strong splits, really struggling against left handed pitchers, with a career .547 OPS against them. He seems a lot like Rowdy Tellez, so I wonder what this means for him.
Anyway, welcome to the (Buffalo) Blue Jays, Daniel!
2019 All-Star. 30 Homers.
