Many MLB reporters are saying that the Blue Jays have traded for Taijuan Walker from the Mariners.
Walker has a 4.00 ERA in 5 starts covering 27 innings. He’s allowed 21 hits, 5 home runs, 8 walks with 25 strikeouts.
Shi Davidi says it is a ‘player to be named later’ who will be going to the Mariners, which likely means it is someone not on the team’s 60-man list. Players not on the list are not allowed to be traded during the season, so we won’t know who we are losing for a couple of months.
Walker is a free agent after the season, he had Tommy John surgery back in 2018, missing almost all of last season, making just 1 start.
He went 7 innings and 106 pitches in his last start, I’d love to see someone go 7 for the Jays.
It might be cash going to Seattle:
#BlueJays officially announce they have acquired RHP Taijuan Walker from the Mariners in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

More news:
Trent Thornton has been put on the 45-day IL, making room for Walker, and making it official that he won’t be back this season.
