The Jays are back in action today, and welcome the opportunity to put some distance between themselves and the Orioles in the postseason standings.
If you have a moment before the game starts, this is worth watching:
Every Jackie Robinson Day is special. His sacrifices blessed me & countless others with the opportunity to play the game we all love today. But he stood for so much more. This year we can't stop at thanking Jackie for paving the way. @pamsson @MissEljon @MissCirillo @BV_EW @MLB pic.twitter.com/YkzEFvPO7t

So apparently the Jays haven’t had a starter pitch in the 7th inning since Jacob Waguespack did it here in LA a year ago. Will tonight be the night?
#Bluejays are on a major league record streak of 61 games (dating back to last season) of not having a starter make it to the seventh inning. Hyun-Jin Ryu will try tonight and Taijuan Walker (who has done it twice this season) is up tomorrow.

We also have some injury updates and roster moves:
- Bo Bichette has started baseball activities, playing catch and swinging off tee; yet to take grounders
— Shi Davidi (@ShiDavidi) August 28, 2020
- Dan Vogelbach is active, being seen as DH and pinch-hitter
- #BlueJays plan to auction off Jackie Robinson Day jerseys and donate proceeds to social justice charity
Here are tonight’s lineups. Vladdy will stay in the number 3 slot, Shaw has been bumped down to 7th, and Panik gets a start at shortstop.

We are glad you are here, and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it's "don't be terrible," but these days it's also, "please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus." If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don't do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here.
