The Blue Jays and all MLB teams had to bring their roster size down to 28.

The Jays did it by optioning Santiago Espinal and Jacob Waguespack to the taxi squad. Both have options. They join Sam Gaviglio and Caleb Joseph on the taxi squad.

Espinal had 11 PA with 1 single. He was a lot of fun to have around. He’ll have a place in team history as the first player to be put on second in extra innings in Blue Jays history. I’m sure he’ll be back on the roster at some point.

Waguespack pitched in 3 games for 4 innings. Allowed 2 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

That leaves us with 14 pitchers, 2 catchers, 7 infielders and 5 outfielders on the active roster.

Chase Anderson will have to be added at some point. I’d guess that Billy McKinney would sent out then.
