Joseph clears waivers

Caleb Joseph cleared waivers, and is back with the Blue Jays, and on the taxi squad again. The taxi squad is now Joseph, RHP Patrick Murphy, RHP Hector Perez and RHP Jacob Waguespack. They have room for one more, but Rochester isn’t far away from New York.

Tonight’s Mariners/Giants game has been postponed for ‘air quality’ reasons. I’m hoping that MLB has a backup location in mind for the Playoffs if smoke continues to be an issue.

Teoscar Hernandez is to take batting practice off Matt Shoemaker today. Hernandez could be back as early as Friday, but maybe sometime on the weekend.

Nate Pearson is also throwing batting practice tomorrow, so both pitchers aren’t all that far away from being back. We could really use Shoemaker in the rotation. Pearson would go to the bullpen.

Today’s lineup. Stanton and Urshela are back for the Yankees. Gleyber Torres is out of the lineup. Fisher plays for the first time since last Friday. Cavan is at third again.
