Julian Merryweather to be opener tonight

Julian Merryweather will be the opener tonight for the Blue Jays.

Merryweather has opened for us twice. He’s limited batters to a .077/.143/.154 line in 4 shutout innings. We are 1-1 in those games.

I wonder if we could stretch him to 3 innings. The most he’s thrown in one day is 42 pitches, and I’d think the team will want to be careful with his arm.

Merryweather was to be Baseball Central but had to cancel when he found out it was going to open.
