The Jays are looking to prevent the sweep, sending Julian Merryweather out as an opener to oppose Masahiro Tanaka. If we could limit the Evil Empire to one touchdown, that would be lovely.
We have a couple updates and roster moves:
Blue Jays debated adding Palacios to 40-man last winter to protect him from Rule 5. Ultimately didn't & he went unselected.

25-year-old LHH put up a .266/.371/.416 line at double-A in 2019. Rule 5 eligible again this winter along with OF prospects Forrest Wall & Chavez Young.

Blue Jays still weighing next steps for Matt Shoemaker, as well. He threw 45 pitches in a live BP yesterday. Could throw another. Club might try to get him stretched out as far as 60 pitches.

Here are today’s lineups. Teoscar is back and starting in right field, Vladdy is DHing and Panik gets a start and second. On the Yankees side, Stanton is in the lineup, but no Aaron Judge.
