The Blue Jays are playing a doubleheader against the Red Sox to account for 2 of the 20 MLB games being played today.
It’s the Friday before a long weekend, so let’s sit back and watch some baseball.
Speaking of which, I found this today and it’s pretty great.

You may have seen the Jays official account tweet about naming a new dog. Here’s the story behind it:
According to Tom Hatch, the #BlueJays bullpen dog (you may have seen the cutout on the broadcast) is named Pete and he “followed” them from Tampa. So, he’s theirs now.

We have an injury update on a couple players it would be REALLY great to have back for the Yankees series:
Depending on how that session goes, #BlueJays could activate Ken Giles soon after, but also possible they give him one more live BP session.

Apparently the team also had a little chat about their TOOTBLANS:
#BlueJays met with position players today to discuss baserunning. The message, per Charlie Montoyo: “Be aggressive, just be smart. Sometimes you don’t want to make mistakes and now you stop being aggressive...b/c you’re afraid to get thrown out. Stay aggressive. But be smart."

Here are today’s lineups for Game 1. No Villar today, Rowdy has been bumped up to 3rd, and Panik will play shortstop.
We are glad you are here, and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it's "don't be terrible," but these days it's also, "please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus." If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don't do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here.
