The Blue Jays signed someone!
Former Cubs pitcher Tyler Chatwood is now a Jay.
Chatwood is 31, has pitched 9 seasons in the MLB, starting with the Dodgers, then the Rockies and Cubs. Career he has a 4.40 ERA in 197 games, 143 starts.
2020 he made 5 starts for the Cubs and had a 5.30 ERA in 18.2 innings, with 9 walks and 25 strikeouts. In 2019 he pitched mostly from the pen. 2018 he walked 95 batters in 103.2 innings.
Career Chatwood has walked 11.9% of batters, and struck out 16.8%, but the strikeout numbers have gone up the last couple of years.
Shi Davidi tells us he will make $3 million this year, with incentives that could bring that up to $5.5 million.
Deal pays him $3 million with incentives that can push it to $5.5m, per source. https://t.co/BzapAchZx5
