The 2021 Blue Jays ZiPS projections are out. Over the next few weeks, we’ll put up a series of over/under polls, using the batter’s OPS and the pitcher’s ERA as predicted by ZiPS.
Hyun Jin Ryu is today’s subject. ZiPS predicts a 3.58 ERA (they also predict 138 innings, I’m taking the over on that, presuming they play a full or almost full season). For comparison sake, in last year’s 60 game season he had a 2.69 ERA and in 2019, with the Dodgers, he had an NL leading 2.32 ERA. He will be 34 this year.
Let us know if you think he’ll have a higher or lower ERA.
