There is no baseball today. I don’t know what to do with myself.

I am sad that the Brewers got knocked out. But Rowdy Tellez had some moments. That was great to see. Beyond that, I suppose I’m cheering for the Giants now. If they get knocked out I may just ignore the rest of the playoffs.

And there isn’t all that much for Blue Jays news.

A couple of days ago, MLB Trade Rumors put up their ‘Projected Arbitration Salaries’ for MLB’s arbitration-eligible players.

The Jays:

Blue Jays (12)

  • Ross Stripling – $4.4MM
  • Jose Berrios – $10.9MM
  • Jacob Barnes – $1.2MM
  • Teoscar Hernandez – $10.0MM
  • Adam Cimber – $1.5MM
  • Trevor Richards – $1.1MM
  • Ryan Borucki – $800K
  • Danny Jansen – $1.5MM
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – $7.9MM
  • Tim Mayza – $1.2MM
  • Trent Thornton – $900K
  • Cavan Biggio – $1.7MM

I’d guess they don’t keep Jacob Barnes. Trent Thornton is a judgement call, but they could likely use the 40-man spot.

I’d love the team to offer Jose Berrios an extension. Of course, I’d love them to give extensions to Teoscar and Vlad too.

Alek Manoah made MLB Pipeline’s All-Rookie Team. About Alek they said:

He didn’t make as many starts as other rookies, but he might have been as dominant as any other starter in the starts he did make, topping rookies in both WHIP and BAA, while placing second in ERA and third in K/9 (10.24).

We didn’t talk about the news that the Jays tried to get Jose Ramirez and Robbie Grossman at the trade deadline.

I dismiss these stories because I’d imagine there were about 20 players the Jays tried to get at the deadline.

Ramirez would have made a lot of sense (still would). Grossman? Well, we had Jarrod Dyson on the active roster for the last month of the season. So he would have been a big step up.

I’d imagine the Jays and Cleveland will be talking more this winter.

The Arizona Fall League starts up today. The Mesa Solar Sox has 7 Blue Jays farmhands on their roster. Mesa plays their first game today, starting at 2:35.

  • Michael Dominguez
  • Cre Finfrock
