The story editor was off-line (that’s a strange way of saying it crapped out) for a good part of the day. This was too bad because I was happily working away on something (but thankfully it wasn’t something that had to go up today. It is was strange, the story editor hasn’t had problems in a long time. But, when I’m happily writing something and it boots me out, there are a few moments of ‘am I fired’. They would let me know, right? It wouldn’t happen mid-story?
Anyway, game three of the Cheaters vs. Cheaters series. I guess I’m cheering for the Astros because cheering for the Red Sox would cause blood to drip from the walls of my house. I think ‘cheering for’ is the wrong term.
I only get to watch the first couple of innings, then I’m off to squash. Odds are the game will still be going when I’m done. So, I can sit at the bar and watch the end of the game.
I’ve been enjoying squash but I’m in a once-a-week league, and I’ve missed a few games, the other person missed one, I was up in Edmonton for one, and Thanksgiving was one. The league is six weeks old and I’ve played one game, and one fill the time game, with the club pro, when, for the second time, the person I was to play wasn’t there (surprisingly, I didn’t win).
Tonight Red Sox fans will be booing the Astros, which makes you think they don’t understand that their team and their manager didn’t do much the same as the Astros (just not as successfully, I mean if you are going to cheat, you really ought to win).
