Wednesday Bantering: Congratulations Braves

MLB: World Series-Atlanta Braves at Houston Astros Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Congratulations to the Atlanta Braves for winning the World Series over the Astros. Especially congratulations to Alex Anthopoulos and to Calgarian Michael Soroko, who gets a World Series ring. I feel bad for him missing out on most of the season with an injury. It must have been tough to watch his teammates play in the playoffs and not be able to be out there. I hope he has a better time of it next year. And George Poulis, long-time Jays trainer, gets a ring too. That’s great.

I’m glad the Astros didn’t win. I still hold a grudge.

And now we face a long cold winter without baseball.

Or we could follow the Arizona Fall League.

Gabriel Moreno is having a good time of it in the sun of Arizona. He’s hitting .366/.460/.585 with a home run, 8 walks and 6 strikeouts in 10 games. Can’t ask for too much more, but he did throw out a base stealer too.

And, now that the World Series is over, we’ll have more for Jays' news and rumours. More for us to chat and argue about. Hopefully the new CBA negotiations don’t ruin our fun.

I’m heading off for ten days in Mexico, early tomorrow morning.. First time on a plane since the world changed. Finally getting my weight down to where I’d like it, hit the goal I had for December 1st yesterday, and now I’m going to do nothing but lay in the sun and drink alcohol. I’ll be back where I was 2 months ago after these ten days. But it will be all worth it.
