Earlier it looked like Bauer was going to sign with the Mets but now they tell us he has signed with the Dodgers.
He will get $102 million over three years. He gets $40 million this year, $45 million in 2022, and $17 million for 2023. And he has an opt-out after each season. It seems like a lot of money. Bauer has been very good over the past three seasons (5.8 fWAR in 2018, 3.3 in 2019, and 2.5 the shortened 2020).
I’m not sad that it isn’t the Blue Jays paying him.
