The 2021 Blue Jays ZiPS projections are out. Over the next few weeks, we’ll put up a series of over/under polls, using the batter’s OPS and the pitcher’s ERA as predicted by ZiPS.
Today we have Alejandro Kirk. ZiPS figures Kirk to have a .756 OPS. They also have him getting 386 PA, which I’m thinking is unlikely, but then they don’t really do work into figuring how much playing time guys will get. They figure him for 10 home runs and 24 doubles (and 1 stolen base).
Kirk had 25 PA last year, with a .994 OPS. It is too bad there isn’t a scale for ‘enjoyment of watching. He is one of those guys I’d love to see have a long career, and all of it in a Blue Jays jersey.
Let us know if you think he’ll have a higher or lower OPS.
