Pirates 2 Jays 2 (7 innings)
Just some quick notes:
- Robbie Ray pitched a nice two-inning, giving up just one hit, a home run by Anthony Alford (happy to see him do well), no walks, and 2 strikeouts. Was around 95 with the fastball and threw strikes.
- Nate Pearson had more troubles, gave up a walk, a hit, with 2 strikeouts. He gave up an unearned run due to one of Austin Martin two errors. Nate threw a lot of pitches (28) and had some trouble with the strike zone. He was getting up to 99 on the fastball.
- Francisco Liriano had a nice quick inning. So did David Phelps (2 strikeouts), Ryan Borucki and Jordan Romano (he had a couple of 99s too).
- Rowdy Tellez was 1 for 2 with a double. Rowdy is the early season hitting star. Joe Panik and Breyvic Valera (playing CF) had our other two hits, both singles.
- Austin Martin had the two errors, was 0 for 1 with a walk and a steal.
- Alejandro Kirk hit a sac fly (to the track in CF).
- Danny Jansen went 0 for 2 with 2 strikeouts. He was 0 for yesterday too, likely needs some at bats to get his timing down.
I’m sure no one at Rogers reads this but....

I bet it had good ratings in Canada too, better than the Poker that they are showing right now, at the very least. I guess poker shows are very cheap to make.
Speaking of games I’d like to see:
Manager Charlie Montoyo confirms George Springer will make his spring debut with the #BlueJays tomorrow vs #Phillies. He will lead off and be the DH. Montoyo will gauge how he feels postgame but says Springer will likely play in the outfield in his next game. pic.twitter.com/Ys2Dg1x73W
