Quick Recap: Jays Beat Tigers

MLB: Detroit Tigers at Toronto Blue Jays Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

That fixed camera thing is not growing on me. But it is what we have. Stupid Sportsnet. I think a sports TV channel should have some executives who actually like sports.

Anyway.

Tigers 6 Blue Jays 10

A nice start from Tanner Roark. 3 innings, just one hit, 3 strikeouts. He had a couple of hard-hit fly balls, one long and foul and one that was hit to the track. But a good outing.

Kirby Yates gave up 2 hits in his inning, without giving up a run. He topped out at 93.8 MPH in his first action.

Tim Mayze had a clean inning with 2 strikeouts. He hit 95.4.

A.J. Cole gave up a 1 hit in his inning (a triple), an earned run, with 2 strikeouts.

Ty Tice had a rough time of it. 4 hits and a walk, 5 earned, 1 home run, with 2 strikeouts.

On offense:

Vladimir Guerrero was the star, going 3 for 3, with a home run and 2 hard-hit singles. Apparently, they were: 111.4 mph single, 111.2 mph HR, and 107.9 single. He’s hitting .500 this spring.

The rest:

  • George Springer hit a leadoff homer, 1 for 3. He is .273 this spring.
  • Marcus Semien: 0 for 3, 2 k. .235/
  • Bo Bichette: 0 for 2, walk. .234 but he’s had 5 walks so far.
  • Teoscar Hernandez: 1 for 2, walk, double. .300.
  • Rowdy Tellez: 1 for 3, k. .313.
  • Cavan Biggio: 0 for 2, walk. .143.
  • Randal Grichuk: 1 for 3, home run. .200.
  • Alejandro Kikk: 1 for 2, home run, .429.

Tomorrow’s game is on Sportsnet, thankfully the Pirates broadcaster is broadcasting it.
