Friday Bantering: Today’s lineup

Toronto Blue Jays v Detroit Tigers Photo by Douglas P. DeFelice/Getty Images

The Blue Jays play the Tigers today at Lakeland Florida. It isn’t being broadcast in any form, not even a crappy fixed camera view. But we get the next three games on Sportsnet, with a couple of them actually produced by Sportsnet, so we will likely have Buck and Pat doing bad in inning interviews with disinterested players and coaches while ignoring the play.

Today’s Lineup:

Jonathan Davis CF

Joe Panik 2B

Vladimir Guerrero 3B

Rowdy Tellez 1B (please get a hit)

Alejandro Kirk C

Josh Palacios RF

Tyler White DH

Breyvic Valera SS

Forrest Wall LF

Bob Rae gets the start, no surprise that he is a lefty.

The Jays gave a few injury updates:

  • No real news on Thomas Hatch but Pete Walker said that they were “Encouraged by the way he was moving his arm” after the game.
  • They are going to be ‘more cautious’ with Nate Pearson. So no chance to make the team out of spring training.
  • Julian Merryweather has been ‘slowed by a back issue’ this spring, but is feeling better and will throw in a simulated game Sunday.
  • Kirby Yates will pitch Saturday and Tuesday and will be closer.

MLB is announcing that they have had only 1 positive test in 14,845 tests.

It is looking more and more that George Springer is our leadoff hitter this year and Cavan Biggio will be deeper in the order.
