The bad news is that there is no baseball tonight.
The good news is that there are games tomorrow, and four less innings for the Jays’ bullpen to cover.
Here’s how the Jays will schedule their starts over the next few days. We are officially in the Tommy Milone era:
Weekend pitching matchups for Blue Jays and Royals:
— Shi Davidi (@ShiDavidi) April 16, 2021
Saturday
Game 1: Steven Matz vs Mike Minor
Game 2: Tommy Milone vs Ervin Santana
Sunday
Robbie Ray vs Brady Singer
After off day Monday, Hyun-Jin Ryu starts Tuesday in Boston
The team can also call up an extra player for their doubleheader. There are three pitchers left on the 40-man who aren’t part of the active roster: Elvis Luciano, Ty Tice and Travis Bergen. From the position player side, it’s Santiago Espinal, Riley Adams, Otto Lopez, and Gabriel Moreno.
The Jays made an addition to their alternate site as well:
Blue Jays adding reliever Brody Rodning to alternate site. Lefty was a 13th rounder in 2017, pitched at low-A Lansing in 2019. Been up to 95.5 so far this spring.
