Happy Springer day to you and yours!
Before we all turn our attention to George’s Blue Jays debut, here’s a little video to commemorate Vladdy’s record breaking night:
Last night, he made HISTORY.

We have so many reasons to be excited about what’s to come for this team:
we were so excited about the Jays lineup before the season but beyond God Level Vlad Jr., they've got 7 games from Teoscar, Semien & Biggio have been meh, Gurriel has been bad, Bo hasn't heated up yet, and Springer hasn't even played a game

There’s also a longform piece on Springer up at Sportsnet:
Today is George Springer Day for Blue Jays fans. They’ll finally get to see the superstar when he returns from injury to make his regular-season debut.

Here’s some pre-game reading: My deep dive on George Springer, the human being.

We have a bunch of roster moves and updates:
- Springer has been re-instated, Rowdy Tellez has been optioned down, Ryu has been added to the IL and Travis Bergen is back.
Montoyo says nothing has changed with Ryu’s glute injury, but they wanted to play it safe.
— Scott Mitchell (@ScottyMitchTSN) April 28, 2021
He’s expected to pitch next week in Oakland.
Montoyo referenced the need to get Springer a lot of at-bats at DH and some upcoming lefty starters as the reason for the Tellez demotion. When Springer starts playing the OF regularly, which doesn't sound imminent, Tellez will return. #BlueJays

As for Rowdy Tellez being optioned, Montoyo said the reason was because Springer would DH a lot to start and there won’t be ABs for Rowdy. Montoyo said Rowdy took it well, went to alternate site to play in tonight’s game. The expectation is he can work out his timing and be back

Robbie Ray starts Friday against Atlanta, bullpen day Saturday and TBA on Sunday, although Ross Stripling is lined up and a possibility if he's fine physically.

Here are tonight’s lineups. Springer will lead off and DH, Biggio is still in right field, and Panik gets another start at 3rd.
