There are a couple of little bits of news this afternoon:
Today’s pitcher likely to be going onto the IL? Ryan Borucki. He felt a tightness in his elbow while playing catch this afternoon. He isn’t officially on the IL at the moment, but he’s going to talk to a doctor. The odds are that after that talk, he’ll be put on the IL.
Update: He is now on IL. The Jays will play a man short tonight. There will be a move tomorrow.
The Blue Jays signed right-handed pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. to a minor league contract. He’ll be dress for tonight’s Bisons game.
Carl is 29. He has played in 200 games over 7 MLB seasons, all out of the bullpen. He has a 3.68 ERA in 181 innings, with 102 walks and 243 strikeouts. FanGraphs says he’s averaged 95.1 MLB on his fastball in his career. He’s been a fastball/curveball pitcher in his career. If the Jays can get his to cut down on the walks a bit, he ould be useful.
Like every pitcher in Buffalo, odds are we’ll see him in Toronto at some point.
ROSTER MOVE: The #BlueJays have signed RHP Carl Edwards Jr. to a minor league contract. CJ will be active for the #Bisons for tonight's game against Rochester.

Welcome to the Herd, @CEdwardsSBS! https://t.co/YlHhql47Uq
We aren’t the only team with injury issues. Aaron Hicks is likely to go on the IL. The Yankee's center fielder has a torn tendon sheath in his wrist. No word on how long he might be out may need surgery, or they may decide he needs rest, or perhaps he’ll try to play through it.
I was hoping today’s lineup would be out by now. As soon as I hit publish, I’m sure.
Yep:
