I almost forgot that Kate asked me to put up the GameThread today.
I turned on the Euro Cup game between Denmark and Finland and was confused why they were showing people in the stands and field were all crying. Then found out that Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field. Players circled him to give the medic privacy while they worked on him. And then when they took him off the field.
Seeing his wife on the field watching was extremely sad.
There might be good news:
Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET.

The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.
It reminds me of an Expos game I was watching when umpire Marty McSherry collapsed and died of a heart attack on the field. I also remember my dad making fun of me for saying the game would be suspended. “Just because someone died?” Yes dad, it is a sport, it is less important than a player’s life.
There is a pregame roster move, Tayler Saucedo gets the callup. Jeremy Beasley goes to the Bisons. A.J. Cole moves to the 60-day IL.
We are glad you are here and hope you feel welcome. As a reminder, we have rules. Mostly it’s “don’t be terrible,” but these days it’s also, “please debate about baseball and not the coronavirus or vaccines.” If a moderator asks you to stop doing something, please stop. If you want to discuss the rules, don’t do it in the thread. Email Tom instead. We also have a BBB Glossary full of GameThread lingo you can find here. You can Adopt-a-Jay here, and here’s a helpful tutorial on how to post images in the comments.
