Jays Roster Moves: Kay Up, Zeuch Down

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays at Toronto Blue Jays Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

Surprise, the Jays made a roster move before today’s game:

  • Anthony Kay returns to the active roster.
  • TJ Zeuch gets optioned back to Buffalo (from Buffalo)

Personally, I think it is time to bring Hatch and Pearson up. I know they want them to be starters, and likely it is smart to have a starter at hand in case something gets injured. But, we need some power arms in the pen. Murphy is a good start, but getting Hatch and Pearson in there would, hopefully, make the pen that much better.

Both could do the three-inning save thing if they were up.

George Springer is getting a day off, back at it tomorrow and likely Sunday and then, hopefully, it will be time to bring him up. I’d imagine he’ll be doing 2 days in CF and one at DH for a little bit after he comes up.

Shohei Ohtani has said he wants to be part of the home run derby. Him against Vlad would make for a fun show.

Tonight’s lineup. Panik at DH is.......interesting. I’d by far rather Rowdy in that spot. Or for that matter, Hoying.
