Orioles 4 Blue Jays 12

That was better.

The Jays scored 4 runs in each of the third, fifth, and sixth innings:

  • In the third: With two outs, Marcus Semien and Bo Bichette each doubled. And then Vladimir Guerrero and Teoscar Hernandez hit back-to-back home runs, number 26 and 11 respectively.
  • In the fifth: With one out, Bo doubled, and Vlad walked (was pitched around). George Springer popped one up between the infield and outfield. SS PatValaika got a glove on it but dropped it. Bo scored. Then Randal Grichuk homered Vlad and George home. Number 14 for Randal.
  • In the sixth: Santiago Espinal singled. Semien doubled. Vlad was walked again. Teoscar singled home two. Springer and Grichuk singled in one each.

We had 15 hits and 4 walks. Bo and Randal had 3 hits each. Marcus, Teoscar, George, and Santiago had 2 hits each.

Lourdes and Reese had 0 fors.

Hyun Jin Ryu was excellent through 6 innings. He had some troubles in the seventh, giving up a walk and five hits, for four runs. All the runs came in fours. He wasn’t being crushed in that inning and had some bad luck. Maybe the long time he was on the bench during the Jays' half of the inning stiffened him up. But he shouldn't take away from how good he was through six innings.

Jacob Barnes and Joel Payamps finished out the game.

FanGraphs seems to be down, so let's give JoDs to Bo, Vlad, Teoscar,, George and Randal, who drove in all the runs.

No Suckage awards.

Tomorrow’s game is listed at 1:00 Eastern. I thought today was a 4:00 start, but I was wrong and nearly missed it. Stripling (2-4, 4.33) vs. Lopez (2-9, 5.68).
