Roster Moves: Castro, Payamps down, Matz, Cimber added

MLB: Game Two-Toronto Blue Jays At Cleveland Indians David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Before we get to the news, here is your reminder that tonight’s game is a YouTube-only broadcast. Because kids will watch it if it was on YouTube, or, the real answer because YouTube is paying MLB a ton of money for this. Happy I choose tonight to take a night off.

The Blue Jays are making roster moves again:

  • Joel Payamps and Anthony Castro were optioned to the Bisons.
  • Steven Matz was activated from the Covid IL.
  • Adam Cimber (no L) has been added to the roster.
  • Jeremy Beasley has been DFAed.

They will take a day or two to check out Dickerson’s injury before he gets put on the roster.

Not with the major league team, but Gabriel Moreno is out with an injury. As Shi Davidi notes, the team hasn’t said what the injury is. Nor has he been put on the IL.

Update: Moreno got hit on his hand with a pitch, it doesn’t sound good.

Austin Martin will play in the ‘Futures Game’. Moreno deserves a spot but trying to get a player from each organization must not be fun.

Today’s lineup. Vlad to DH, Lourdes to first, and Adams catches Matz. Matz will have a pitch limit but haven’t heard what it is. Maybe that’s part of the reason that Anthony Kay wasn’t sent down.
