We are taking a day away from the world, going out to Banff for the day, even though it will be hard to see the mountains through the smoke from fires in BC.
There isn’t much for news today.
Trevor Bauer’s administrative leave has been extended again. I can’t imagine we’ll see him on the mound again this year.
And no word from the Canadian government on the Jays' proposal to play in Toronto. It is a tough call. They let NHL teams across the border, but that was only two teams. With the Jays, it would be several teams. And some of them haven’t hit the 85% vaccinated level. The four Phillies going on the Covid list doesn’t really help.
I thought I’d ask for your predictions for the season. What do you think will happen? What would you like to see happen?
Under the like to see:
- I’d like to see Thomas Hatch called up and put in the rotation and put Matz into the bullpen. I know it is unlikely, but I’d like to see it.
- I want Kevin Smith called up and put in at third base. But, of course, I would worry that he would go 0 for in his first couple of games and get sent back down.
Will happen?
- Sometime, over the second half of the season, the home run ball that Vlad hit in the All-Star game will land.
Give us your predictions.
