Bob Nightengale (among others) is reporting that the Jays have traded for LHP Brad Hand. Going to the Nationals is Riley Adams.

Hand signed with the Nationals back in January. He’s 31, in his 11th season in the MLB. This year he has a 3.59 ERA (4.33 FIP) with 21 saves (and 5 blown saves). In 42.2 innings he’s allowed 31 hits, 18 walks with 42 strikeouts.

He’s had a few bad outings this month, which is worrying. He’s allowed runs in 4 of 8 appearances this month.

Adam was called up earlier this season. He had 30 PA and a .107/157/179 line. In Buffalo, he is .239/.371/.487 with 7 home runs. Baseball American rated him as having the best power in the system this year.

But Gabriel Moreno has passed him on the prospect lists.
