We have a new episode of Around The Nest, our weekly Toronto Blue Jays minor league podcast. As always hosted by Tyler Zickel of the Vancouver Canadians (high-A). Tyler is joined by Greg Caserta of the Buffalo Bisons (triple-A), new guy Nathan Strauss of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (double-A), and Andrew Thriffiley of the Dunedin Blue Jays (low-A).
This week:
From Greg Caserta:
The Bisons are 12-2 over the last 14. Kevin Smith is having a great season while playing some left field. The pitching has been solid, too, second-lowest ERA in Triple-A East. And some thoughts about Nate Pearson’s injury (is it worse than we thought?) and rehabbing catchers.
From Nathan Strauss:
Working on his birthday (Happy Birthday). Austin Martin and Gabriel Moreno on the IL, and Simeon Woods-Richardson lost to the US Olympic team for July. Getting one-hit by Grayson Rodriguez. And Martin is playing in the Futures Game.
From Tyler Zickel:
Pitching troubles. An 11-15 month of June and an Adam Klofferstein update.
From Andrew Thriffiley:
Battling poor internet connections: Dunedin has the third-youngest team in Low-A and is dealing with a load road trip. They’ve had 3 double-headers in the last week. Jimenez and Cook getting hit by pitch. Orelvis Martinez's timing is just off. And being on hurricane watch.
Roundtable:
Early playoff predictions.
I listened to it while putting together the post and, as always, enjoyed it.
